MY PHILOSOPHY
°Principle 1
MAKE POSITIVE IMPACT
We designers create new things and put them out in the world for years to stay. Whether we intend to or not, the design decisions we make can have a lasting impact on society and the environment. With this belief, I made asking critical questions an integral part of the design process. I have written my master thesis in design for sustainability for an EU (Erasmus+) founded project for which I worked for 2 years after graduation as the project manager. In my spare time, I also like to participate in hackathons where we produce copy-free solutions to real world problems.
°Principle 2
ALWAYS DO ONE STEP
BETTER THAN YOUR BEST
My standards are very high, and I work hard to exceed them. While I am motivated by clients’ success, I also see each work I take as an opportunity to learn more, to explore new horizons and to create things that have not been imagined before. So every time, I will go the extra mile to deliver the best quality in set deadlines, mostly giving more than I am asked for.
°Principle 3
GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES
WITH A GLOBAL MINDSET
Everyone in this world has their own unique perspective and we can learn from each of them. Being born in Turkey, a country bridging east and west; having studied in the USA, Australia and Italy; having worked with people all around the world; I am equipped to bring diverse perspectives and experiences to whatever I am on.
°Principle 4
BE RAW, BE FOOLISH,
NEVER STOP LEARNING
Everything is constantly evolving, so must we. To be able to endure and grow, one must adapt and innovate. Renewal is crucial to stay relevant in an ever-changing world. In the light of this, I am constantly searching for new ideas, new solutions, new tools and new opportunities.
°Principle 5
DO WHAT YOU LOVE
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
As life is short, it is important to do the work that we are passionate about. That was why I chose to be a designer and that’s why I choose to work on the projects that are meaningful to me and with people who I share the same values with. But life is also not all about work, and with the awareness of the miracle of being alive in my body, I remind myself everyday to include plenty of fun, laughter and love in my day.
MY WAY
THINK DEEP
Before starting to design or develop anything, I first ask the question why? I take time to delve to the core of your needs, understand what defines your business, and discover the meaning of what we are creating. I employ in-depth research, user insights, best practices, scientific methodologies and years of experience to guide us throughout the project.
THINK WIDE
I think at a high level to align product strategy with clear goals, ensuring cohesive and consistent experiences. Drawing from my master's in Product Service System Design, I approach each project with a comprehensive, interconnected perspective that harmonizes every touchpoint for a seamless user experience.
THINK DIFFERENT
Methodology and creativity are like the yin-yang of design. Without methodology, creative energy will lose its purpose and direction. And without creativity, methodology will fall short on achieving a breakthrough. I use creative ideation as part of any design process to generate momentum and achieve unprecedented results.
THINK HUMAN-FIRST
We design for humans—complex beings shaped by emotions, needs, desires, and culture, with a natural affinity for beauty. To create exceptional products, I center every design decision around empathy and a deep understanding of user needs, ensuring solutions are intuitive, accessible, and meaningful. Using state-of-the-art methods and techniques, I help integrate the ‘voice of the user’ into the heart of your product. Together, we’ll build products that solve real problems, enrich lives, enhance capabilities, simplify processes and foster long-term relationships with users.
THINK COLLABORATIVE
Collaboration in a team, collaboration with the client, collaboration with a group of stakeholders, and collaboration even with your user. Collaboration of any kind has a place in the process of design. Getting input from users and stakeholders at every stage of the design and development process is key to building successful products, services and brands. The best work happens when we co-create as one big messy team. I also see receiving critics and having fruitful discussions as critical brain nutrients which help us to grow and evolve.
THINK BEYOND
What we design today is there to stay for years to come so we must design strategically looking ahead, beyond what can be seen at the horizon. If we design for every possible series of events that could happen, we will be more ready and resilient for whatever comes;we will face less surprises and disruptions; and have less disappointments.
The future favors those who are ready for it. It is up to how well we plan in advance that will determine whether products, services and brands we design will stand the test of time as user’s needs change, competitors evolve and technology advances.
Where Dreams Begin...
...And Reality Takes Shape.
